About

CLAVAM 625MG is a widely used antibiotic combination containing Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid. Amoxicillin is a penicillin-type antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell lysis and death. It is effective against a broad range of Gram-positive and some Gram-negative bacteria. However, many bacteria produce beta-lactamase enzymes, which can inactivate amoxicillin, rendering it ineffective. This is where Clavulanic Acid plays a crucial role.

Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that binds irreversibly to beta-lactamase enzymes, protecting Amoxicillin from degradation. This synergistic combination extends the antibacterial spectrum of Amoxicillin to include many bacteria that are resistant to Amoxicillin alone. CLAVAM 625MG is therefore highly effective in treating various bacterial infections, including those of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissues, making it a valuable tool in combating bacterial resistance and ensuring successful treatment outcomes.
