About
Cytodrox Capsule is an anticancer medication that contains Hydroxyurea as its active ingredient. It is primarily used to treat chronic myeloid leukemia (a type of cancer affecting white blood cells) and polycythemia vera (a condition involving the overproduction of red blood cells). This medication works by slowing down the growth and division of abnormal cells, helping to control cancer progression.
Cytodrox is also effective in managing sickle cell anemia, a genetic blood disorder characterized by a shortage of healthy red blood cells. It helps by reducing the frequency and severity of painful crises and may prevent long-term organ damage.
In addition to these uses, Cytodrox is prescribed for treating cervical cancer, ovarian cancer, melanoma (a type of skin cancer), and head and neck cancers. Cancer involves the uncontrolled and abnormal multiplication of cells, and this medication helps suppress that activity.
Cytodrox may also be used for conditions not listed above. Before starting treatment, inform your physician if you have any existing medical conditions such as blood disorders, severe anemia, kidney or liver problems, gout, leg ulcers, folic acid deficiency, or sugar intolerance. Proper evaluation is essential to ensure the safe use of this medication.
