About

Duman Tab is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) primarily used for its analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic properties. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are chemical mediators involved in pain, inflammation, and fever. By blocking the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), Duman Tab reduces the production of these inflammatory substances, thereby alleviating symptoms. It is commonly prescribed for various musculoskeletal conditions, pain management, and fever reduction, offering symptomatic relief from acute and chronic inflammatory processes.

Uses

  • Relief of mild to moderate pain.
  • Reduction of inflammation in conditions like arthritis.
  • Management of fever.
  • Alleviation of menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea).

Safety Measures

  • Alcohol - Avoid or limit alcohol consumption as it can increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding and liver damage when taken with NSAIDs.
  • Pregnancy - Generally not recommended during pregnancy, especially in the third trimester, due to potential risks to the fetus, including premature closure of the ductus arteriosus.
  • Breastfeeding - Small amounts may pass into breast milk. Consult a doctor; generally considered safe for short-term use, but long-term use should be avoided.
  • Liver - Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment. NSAIDs can cause liver enzyme elevations and, rarely, severe liver injury.
  • Kidney - Contraindicated in severe renal impairment. Use with caution in mild to moderate impairment as NSAIDs can worsen kidney function, especially in dehydrated patients.
  • Lung - Use with caution in patients with asthma, as NSAIDs can trigger bronchospasm in some individuals (aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease).
