About

Epofit 4000IU Injection contains the active ingredient recombinant human erythropoietin alfa (epoetin alfa) and belongs to a class of medications known as erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESAs). It is primarily used to treat anemia associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD), cancer chemotherapy, or HIV treatment involving zidovudine. Additionally, it helps reduce the need for red blood cell transfusions in patients at high risk of blood loss due to planned surgeries or other medical procedures.

Epofit 4000IU Injection is not recommended for individuals with known hypersensitivity to epoetin alfa or any of its components. It is also contraindicated in patients with uncontrolled high blood pressure, active thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA), pure red cell aplasia (PRCA), uncontrolled seizures, during pregnancy, or while breastfeeding. Caution is advised when using this medication in patients with a history of blood clots, cardiovascular disease, stroke, kidney or liver disorders, thalassemia, sickle cell anemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, leukemia, or cancer. In children under 18, it should only be used if the potential benefits outweigh the risks. Older adults should be closely monitored for adverse effects while on this medication. Before beginning treatment, consult your doctor to thoroughly understand the potential risks and benefits of Epofit 4000IU Injection.
