About

ESOFAG D CAP is a combination medication containing Esomeprazole and Domperidone. Esomeprazole is a potent proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that works by irreversibly blocking the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme system in gastric parietal cells, leading to a significant reduction in gastric acid secretion. Domperidone acts primarily as a dopamine receptor antagonist, increasing gastrointestinal motility and tone of the lower esophageal sphincter, which helps in faster gastric emptying and reduces reflux. It also possesses antiemetic properties by blocking dopamine receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone.
