About

Exetraz 25mg Tablet contains Exemestane, an irreversible steroidal aromatase inactivator used in the adjuvant treatment of hormone receptor-positive early breast cancer in postmenopausal women. It is typically prescribed after patients have completed 2-3 years of tamoxifen therapy, or for advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women whose disease has progressed following tamoxifen therapy. Exemestane works by permanently binding to and inactivating the aromatase enzyme, which is responsible for converting androgens into estrogens in peripheral tissues.

By irreversibly blocking aromatase, Exemestane significantly reduces estrogen levels in the body, thereby depriving estrogen-sensitive breast cancer cells of the growth stimulus. This mechanism of action makes it a potent endocrine therapy, helping to prevent recurrence and slow the progression of hormone-dependent breast cancers in postmenopausal women.

Uses

  • Adjuvant treatment of hormone receptor-positive early breast cancer in postmenopausal women.
  • Treatment of advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women whose disease has progressed following tamoxifen therapy.
  • Extended adjuvant treatment of early breast cancer in postmenopausal women after 2-3 years of tamoxifen.
  • Prevention of breast cancer in high-risk postmenopausal women (off-label).

Directions For Use

Take one tablet orally once daily after a meal, at approximately the same time each day, as directed by your doctor.

Benefits

  • Irreversibly inactivates the aromatase enzyme, leading to sustained estrogen reduction.
