About

GLOTRET 10MG TAB contains Isotretinoin, a potent retinoid primarily used for the treatment of severe nodular acne that has not responded to other therapies, including oral antibiotics. Isotretinoin works by significantly reducing the size and activity of sebaceous glands, thereby decreasing sebum production, which is a major contributing factor to acne development. It also normalizes follicular keratinization, preventing the formation of comedones, and possesses anti-inflammatory properties.

Due to its comprehensive mechanism of action, Isotretinoin effectively targets all four key pathogenic factors of acne: increased sebum production, follicular hyperkeratinization, bacterial colonization (P. acnes), and inflammation. Its efficacy in clearing severe acne and preventing scarring is well-established, often leading to long-term remission after a single course of treatment. However, it is associated with significant side effects and requires strict monitoring, particularly due to its teratogenic potential.
