About

Kabizolid, containing Linezolid, is a synthetic oxazolidinone antibiotic specifically developed for the treatment of serious infections caused by susceptible Gram-positive bacteria. Its distinct mechanism of action involves binding to the 23S ribosomal RNA of the 50S ribosomal subunit, thereby preventing the formation of the 70S initiation complex, which is essential for bacterial protein synthesis. This bacteriostatic action is particularly valuable against multi-drug resistant pathogens, including Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE), and penicillin-resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae.
