About

Leucoginase 5000IU Injection is an enzymatic antineoplastic agent primarily used in the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and certain other hematological malignancies. This enzyme works by depleting asparagine, an amino acid essential for the growth and survival of leukemic cells, which are often unable to synthesize their own asparagine. Normal cells, however, can synthesize asparagine and are thus less affected. By depriving these cancerous cells of a critical nutrient, Leucoginase induces apoptosis and inhibits protein synthesis, leading to their destruction. It is administered parenterally, often as part of a multi-agent chemotherapy regimen.

Uses

  • Treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
  • Management of certain non-Hodgkin lymphomas.
  • Part of induction and maintenance therapy for ALL.
  • Used in combination with other chemotherapeutic agents.

Directions For Use
