About

Moxifloxacin is a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic that exerts its potent bactericidal effect by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. These enzymes are essential for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, making their inhibition lethal to bacteria. It possesses a broad spectrum of activity against Gram-positive, Gram-negative, and atypical bacteria, including many anaerobic organisms, which makes it highly versatile. Its excellent tissue penetration, particularly into the lungs and other infection sites, combined with high oral bioavailability, makes it exceptionally effective for treating a wide range of serious bacterial infections. These include respiratory tract infections (like community-acquired pneumonia and acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis), acute bacterial sinusitis, and complicated skin and soft tissue infections, especially when resistance to other antibiotics is a significant concern.

Directions For Use
