About

NIOFINE TAB contains Terbinafine, an allylamine antifungal agent primarily used for the treatment of dermatophyte infections of the skin, hair, and nails. Terbinafine acts by inhibiting squalene epoxidase, a key enzyme in the fungal ergosterol biosynthesis pathway. This inhibition leads to an accumulation of squalene within the fungal cell and a deficiency of ergosterol, both of which are toxic to the fungal cell membrane. The resulting disruption of membrane integrity and function leads to fungal cell death.

Its fungicidal action and ability to concentrate in keratinous tissues make it highly effective against dermatophytes, which are responsible for common conditions like athlete's foot, ringworm, and fungal nail infections. This targeted mechanism ensures potent eradication of the fungal pathogen at the site of infection.
