Relicitabine 500mg Tablet contains Capecitabine as its active ingredient and belongs to a class of medications known as antimetabolites. It is used in combination with other chemotherapy drugs to treat metastatic colorectal cancer and breast cancer. Capecitabine works by interfering with the growth of cancer cells, which multiply abnormally and uncontrollably. It is also prescribed to help prevent the recurrence of colon cancer after complete tumor removal through surgery.
Common side effects of Relicitabine may include loss of appetite, headache, runny nose, fever, hair loss, and dry mouth. During treatment, your doctor may regularly monitor your complete blood counts, prothrombin time, and INR to avoid serious complications.
