About

RITECEFF CV TAB combines Cefixime, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, with Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Cefixime works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, providing broad-spectrum activity against many gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Clavulanic acid protects cefixime from degradation by beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria, thereby extending its spectrum of activity to include many beta-lactamase-producing strains that would otherwise be resistant to cefixime alone.

This combination is particularly effective in treating a range of bacterial infections where beta-lactamase production is suspected or confirmed. It is commonly used for respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, and certain skin and soft tissue infections, offering enhanced efficacy against resistant pathogens and providing a robust oral treatment option.

Uses

  • Treatment of complicated urinary tract infections.
  • Management of respiratory tract infections (e.g., bronchitis, sinusitis).
  • Therapy for otitis media caused by resistant strains.
  • Treatment of certain skin and soft tissue infections.
