About

Rituxy 100mg Injection contains the active ingredient rituximab. It is prescribed for various conditions in adults and children. This medicine is used alone or in combination with other treatments for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (a cancer of B-lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (a common cancer affecting B-cells). It is also indicated for moderate-to-severe rheumatoid arthritis (an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks the joints), when used with methotrexate in adults. Additionally, it treats granulomatosis with polyangiitis and microscopic polyangiitis (inflammatory diseases of the blood vessels that mainly affect the lungs and kidneys) in adults and children over 2 years of age. Another approved use is in moderate-to-severe pemphigus vulgaris, an autoimmune condition causing painful blisters on the skin and mucous membranes such as the mouth, throat, nose, and genitals.

Rituxy belongs to the class of anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies. It should not be used if you are allergic to rituximab or its ingredients, have a weakened immune system, or are suffering from a severe active infection. Inform your doctor if you have heart disease, heart failure, or breathing difficulties before starting treatment. If you have ever had a hepatitis B infection, let your doctor know, as this infection can sometimes reactivate and become severe. Use of this medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Common side effects of Rituxy include blood infections, low red blood cell count, dizziness, swelling of the face or body, itchy skin, diarrhea, excessive sweating, and fluctuations in blood pressure. Women who can become pregnant should use effective contraception during treatment and for at least 12 months after the last dose. Serious infusion-related reactions may occur during or within 24 hours of administration. Notify your healthcare provider immediately if you experience symptoms such as high blood pressure, chest pain, headache, breathing difficulties, vomiting, skin rash, or swelling of the throat.
