About
ROZAT CV is a combination medication containing Rosuvastatin and Clopidogrel. Rosuvastatin is a HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin) that reduces cholesterol synthesis in the liver, leading to a decrease in LDL-C, total cholesterol, and triglycerides, while increasing HDL-C. Clopidogrel is an antiplatelet agent that selectively inhibits the binding of adenosine diphosphate (ADP) to its platelet receptor, thereby preventing platelet aggregation and thrombus formation. This combination is designed for patients at high risk of cardiovascular events.
The synergistic action of these two drugs provides comprehensive protection against atherosclerosis and thrombotic events. It is typically prescribed for patients who have recently experienced an acute coronary syndrome (ACS), myocardial infarction (MI), or stroke, or those undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) to prevent further cardiovascular complications. Regular monitoring of lipid profiles and bleeding risk is crucial during treatment.
