Sartel 80mg Tablet contains Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) primarily used for the treatment of essential hypertension (high blood pressure). It works by selectively blocking the action of angiotensin II, a natural substance in the body that constricts blood vessels. By blocking this action, Telmisartan allows blood vessels to relax and widen, which in turn lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow. This medication is also indicated for the reduction of cardiovascular morbidity in patients 55 years or older with thrombotic atherothrombotic cardiovascular disease or target organ damage from diabetes.
