About

SWICH CV 325 is a powerful antibiotic combination containing Cefpodoxime Proxetil and Clavulanic Acid. Cefpodoxime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, leading to the destruction of bacteria. It is effective against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects Cefpodoxime from degradation by bacterial enzymes called beta-lactamases, which are often responsible for antibiotic resistance. This synergistic combination significantly broadens the antibacterial spectrum of Cefpodoxime, making it highly effective against many common and resistant bacterial strains. It is prescribed for various bacterial infections where resistance to single antibiotics is a concern, ensuring comprehensive coverage and improved treatment outcomes. The dual mechanism of action helps overcome bacterial defense mechanisms, leading to more successful eradication of pathogens and faster recovery for patients, particularly in cases where bacterial resistance is suspected or confirmed.
