TELISTA H TAB is a combination medication containing Telmisartan, an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB), and Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ), a thiazide diuretic. This formulation is primarily indicated for the management of essential hypertension. Telmisartan works by selectively blocking the AT1 receptors, preventing the binding of angiotensin II, which leads to vasodilation and a reduction in blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide increases the excretion of sodium and water by the kidneys, thereby reducing blood volume and peripheral vascular resistance.
