About

TERBICIP TABS contain Terbinafine, an antifungal medication belonging to the allylamine class. It works by inhibiting squalene epoxidase, an enzyme crucial for fungal ergosterol synthesis. This inhibition leads to an accumulation of squalene within the fungal cell, which is toxic and ultimately causes fungal cell death. Terbinafine is highly effective against dermatophytes, the fungi responsible for most skin, hair, and nail infections, including tinea pedis, tinea cruris, and onychomycosis. Its fungicidal action makes it a potent treatment for various superficial and systemic fungal infections. It achieves high cure rates, particularly in onychomycosis, due to its ability to concentrate in the nail bed, providing sustained therapeutic levels. This targeted mechanism ensures effective eradication of fungal pathogens, leading to significant clinical improvement and preventing recurrence.
