About
TESS Ointment contains Clobetasol Propionate, a very potent topical corticosteroid indicated for the short-term treatment of severe inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses. It works by suppressing the immune response in the skin, thereby reducing inflammation, redness, swelling, and itching. Its potent anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties make it highly effective for conditions like severe psoriasis, recalcitrant eczema, lichen planus, and discoid lupus erythematosus. Due to its high potency, it should be used sparingly, for limited durations, and on small areas to minimize the risk of local and systemic side effects. Prolonged use can lead to skin atrophy, striae, and potential systemic absorption, which may result in adrenal suppression.
