About
SITAZIT DM ER 10/1000 MG 10S is an extended-release oral medication combining Dapagliflozin and Metformin, indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. Dapagliflozin is a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor that reduces glucose reabsorption in the kidneys, leading to increased urinary glucose excretion and a reduction in blood glucose levels, independent of insulin. Metformin, a biguanide, works by decreasing glucose production in the liver, reducing glucose absorption from the gut, and improving the body's sensitivity to insulin. The extended-release formulation of Metformin allows for once-daily dosing, improving patient adherence. This combination provides comprehensive glycemic control, helps with weight management, and offers cardiovascular and renal benefits, making it a valuable option for many patients with type 2 diabetes.
