About

Azatirel 100mg Injection is used to treat adults with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) and Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) who are not suitable candidates for a stem cell transplant. In MDS, the bone marrow fails to function properly, resulting in the production of unhealthy or insufficient blood cells. AML is a form of bone marrow cancer characterized by the presence of immature and poorly developed blood cells in the bloodstream.

Uses

• Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) classified as Intermediate-2 and High-risk.
• Treatment of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) with 20–30% blasts in patients who are not eligible for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Directions for use

This medicine should be administered by a doctor or nurse. Please do not attempt to self-administer it.


Side effects

Serious:

• Seizures, loss of consciousness, severe headache, or bleeding in the brain
• Frequent urination with pain or burning sensation
• Pneumonia, is characterized by chest pain or breathlessness.
• Unexpected bleeding, with blood in stool and urine
• Allergic reaction with symptoms of swelling of lips, itching, or rashes

Common:

• Dizziness
• Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
• Skin reactions like redness and pain at the site of injection
• Decreased appetite
• Pain in extremities
• Joint pain
• Stomach pain
• Disturbances in the blood count (RBC, WBC, Platelets)
• Headache
