About

Certican 0.25mg Tablet is an antineoplastic medication containing the active ingredient Everolimus, which belongs to a class of drugs known as mTOR kinase inhibitors. It is used in the treatment of advanced breast cancer, renal cell carcinoma, pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors, and subependymal giant cell astrocytoma—a type of tumor found in the brain's ventricles. This medication is often used in combination with cyclophosphamide, an alkylating agent, for treating subependymal giant cell astrocytoma. Since mouth sores or ulcers are a possible side effect, maintaining good oral hygiene and having regular dental check-ups is important during treatment.

Before starting Certican, it's essential to understand that it can increase your risk of developing bacterial or viral infections. If you have a history of Hepatitis B, this medicine may raise the chance of reactivation. Notify your healthcare provider if you experience symptoms such as fever, chills, cough, joint pain, yellowing of the skin, or swelling. The medication may also increase sensitivity to sunlight and UV radiation, so wearing protective clothing and using sunscreen regularly is advised. Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice during the course of treatment, as they may interfere with the medication’s effectiveness.

Certican 0.25mg Tablet is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop chest pain, shortness of breath, or a worsening cough. Your doctor may conduct regular monitoring of white blood cell counts, platelets, blood sugar, electrolytes, and kidney function during treatment to minimize the risk of serious complications. Since this medication can affect kidney function, inform your doctor if you have liver problems, heart failure, high blood pressure, or elevated cholesterol levels before starting treatment. It is also important to avoid live vaccines and close contact with individuals who have recently received them.
