About
Evermil 5mg tablet is an antineoplastic medication from the mTOR kinase inhibitor class, containing the active ingredient everolimus. It is prescribed for the treatment of advanced breast cancer, renal cell carcinoma, pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors, and subependymal giant cell astrocytoma—a type of brain tumor located in the brain’s ventricles. Since this medicine can cause mouth sores or ulcers, maintaining good oral hygiene and attending regular dental check-ups is strongly recommended during treatment. Evermil is often used in combination with cyclophosphamide, an alkylating agent, particularly for managing subependymal giant cell astrocytoma.
Prior to starting therapy, it's important to be aware that Evermil 5mg can increase your susceptibility to bacterial and viral infections. If you have a history of Hepatitis B, this medication may increase the risk of reactivation. Inform your healthcare provider promptly if you develop symptoms such as fever, chills, persistent cough, yellowing of the skin or eyes, joint pain, or swelling. As the drug may heighten the risk of developing skin cancer, minimize your exposure to sunlight and UV rays by wearing protective clothing and regularly applying sunscreen. Avoid consuming grapefruit or grapefruit juice, as it may interfere with the medication's effectiveness.
This medicine is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience shortness of breath, chest pain, or a worsening cough during treatment. Your doctor may schedule routine monitoring of white blood cell counts, platelet levels, blood sugar, electrolytes, and kidney function to detect any potential complications early, as the medicine can adversely affect kidney health.
Before initiating therapy, inform your doctor if you have a history of liver disease, heart failure, high cholesterol levels, or hypertension. Live vaccines should be avoided during treatment, and close contact with individuals who have recently received live vaccines is also discouraged.
