About

COSKLOT 500 contains Tranexamic Acid, an antifibrinolytic agent used to prevent or reduce excessive bleeding. Its primary mechanism of action involves inhibiting the activation of plasminogen to plasmin. Plasmin is an enzyme responsible for the breakdown of fibrin clots (fibrinolysis), which is a natural process to dissolve blood clots. By blocking plasmin formation, Tranexamic Acid stabilizes existing blood clots, thereby promoting hemostasis and reducing blood loss. This medication is particularly effective in conditions characterized by increased fibrinolysis or when there is a need to maintain clot integrity. It is widely used in various medical and surgical settings, including the management of heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia), prevention of bleeding in patients with hemophilia undergoing dental procedures, and control of bleeding in certain surgical procedures or trauma. Its ability to reduce blood loss can significantly decrease the need for blood transfusions.
