About

ERLOTERO TABS 100 MG 30'S contains Erlotinib, an oral epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI). It works by blocking the activity of the EGFR, a protein found on the surface of many cancer cells that helps them grow and divide. By inhibiting EGFR, Erlotinib can slow or stop the growth of cancer cells. It is primarily used in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and pancreatic cancer.

Erlotinib is particularly effective in NSCLC patients with activating mutations in the EGFR gene, where it can significantly improve progression-free survival and overall response rates. Its targeted mechanism of action distinguishes it from traditional chemotherapy, offering a more personalized approach to cancer treatment. It is taken orally, providing a convenient administration route for long-term therapy.

Uses

  • Treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with EGFR mutations.
  • Maintenance therapy for advanced NSCLC after initial chemotherapy.
  • Treatment of advanced pancreatic cancer in combination with gemcitabine.
  • Second-line treatment for advanced NSCLC after failure of at least one prior chemotherapy regimen.
