About

Farmorubicin RTU 10mg Injection contains Epirubicin, an anthracycline topoisomerase II inhibitor, widely used in the treatment of various cancers. It is indicated for breast cancer, ovarian cancer, gastric cancer, and small cell lung cancer, among others. Epirubicin exerts its cytotoxic effects by intercalating into DNA, inhibiting topoisomerase II, and generating free radicals, all of which lead to DNA damage and inhibition of nucleic acid synthesis. This multi-modal action disrupts cancer cell proliferation and induces apoptosis.

As a ready-to-use formulation, it simplifies preparation and administration. Epirubicin is a key component in many chemotherapy regimens, particularly in adjuvant and neoadjuvant settings for breast cancer. Its efficacy is balanced by potential toxicities, notably cardiotoxicity and myelosuppression, which necessitate careful patient monitoring throughout the treatment course.
