About

Rubilon 50mg Injection contains Epirubicin, an anthracycline topoisomerase II inhibitor used in the treatment of various cancers. It exerts its cytotoxic effects through multiple mechanisms, including intercalation into DNA, inhibition of topoisomerase II, and generation of free radicals. These actions lead to DNA damage, inhibition of nucleic acid synthesis, and ultimately, apoptosis in rapidly proliferating cancer cells. Epirubicin is administered intravenously and is a key component in many chemotherapy regimens, particularly for solid tumors.

Its broad spectrum of activity makes it valuable in both adjuvant and metastatic settings, aiming to reduce tumor burden and improve patient survival. Due to its mechanism, careful monitoring for potential side effects, especially cardiotoxicity, is essential during treatment.

Uses

  • Adjuvant breast cancer
  • Metastatic breast cancer
