About

Glychek M Forte combines Gliclazide, a sulfonylurea, and Metformin, a biguanide, to effectively manage type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. Gliclazide primarily works by stimulating the beta cells in the pancreas to release more insulin, thereby helping to lower blood glucose levels. Metformin, on the other hand, reduces the amount of glucose produced by the liver and improves the body's sensitivity to insulin, allowing cells to absorb more glucose from the blood. This dual mechanism of action provides a comprehensive approach to glycemic control, addressing both insulin deficiency and insulin resistance. It is typically prescribed when diet and exercise alone, or monotherapy with either agent, are insufficient to achieve target blood sugar levels, aiming to reduce the risk of long-term diabetes complications.
