About

Lenvatinib is a multi-kinase inhibitor that targets vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR) 1, 2, and 3, fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) 1, 2, 3, and 4, platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR) alpha, RET, and KIT. By inhibiting these receptor tyrosine kinases, lenvatinib impedes tumor angiogenesis, tumor growth, and other pro-oncogenic signaling pathways. It is an oral medication used in the treatment of various advanced cancers, including differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) refractory to radioactive iodine, advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) in combination with everolimus, and unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Its broad spectrum of kinase inhibition contributes to its efficacy in these challenging malignancies by disrupting multiple pathways critical for tumor progression and metastasis.

Uses

  • Radioactive iodine-refractory differentiated thyroid cancer
  • Advanced renal cell carcinoma (in combination)
  • Unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma
  • Endometrial carcinoma (in combination)
