About

Lenvatinib is a multi-kinase inhibitor that targets vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR) 1, 2, and 3, fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) 1, 2, 3, and 4, platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR) alpha, KIT, and RET proto-oncogene. By inhibiting these receptor tyrosine kinases, lenvatinib impedes tumor angiogenesis, tumor growth, and other oncogenic signaling pathways. It is an oral medication primarily used in the treatment of various advanced cancers.

Its broad spectrum of kinase inhibition makes it effective in targeting multiple pathways involved in cancer progression, including those responsible for cell proliferation and survival. This mechanism of action contributes to its therapeutic utility in challenging malignancies where other treatments may have failed or are not suitable. Regular monitoring for adverse effects and dose adjustments are crucial during treatment.
