About

Letroz 2.5mg Tablet is an anti-cancer medicine containing Letrozole, which belongs to the class of aromatase inhibitors. It is prescribed as supportive therapy following primary treatment or as first-line therapy for postmenopausal women with early or advanced hormone receptor–positive breast cancer. Since high estrogen levels can stimulate breast cancer growth, this medicine works by blocking the enzyme aromatase, which is responsible for estrogen production. By lowering estrogen levels, Letroz 2.5mg Tablet helps slow down or stop the growth and spread of cancer to other parts of the body.

Inform your doctor if you have not yet reached menopause, as this medicine is not effective for premenopausal women. Because it reduces reproductive hormone levels, it is not recommended for menstruating women due to its potential impact on fertility. Regular monitoring of cholesterol is advised, as this medicine may increase cholesterol levels. It can also reduce bone mineral density; therefore, discuss bone health monitoring with your physician. Additionally, effective contraception should be used during treatment and for at least 3 weeks after the last dose, as Letroz 2.5mg Tablet may cause harm if pregnancy occurs during therapy.

Uses

  • First- and second-line treatment of postmenopausal women with hormone receptor–positive breast cancer.
  • Treatment of advanced breast cancer of unknown origin in postmenopausal women.
  • Supportive therapy alongside standard treatment for postmenopausal women with early breast cancer.
  • Extended supportive therapy for postmenopausal women with early breast cancer who have already received other anti-cancer medications.
