About

Microtaz ING 2.25GM is a potent combination antibiotic containing piperacillin, an extended-spectrum penicillin, and tazobactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Piperacillin exerts its bactericidal effect by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death. Tazobactam protects piperacillin from degradation by many bacterial beta-lactamase enzymes, which are often responsible for antibiotic resistance. This synergistic action broadens the spectrum of activity of piperacillin to include many beta-lactamase-producing bacteria, both Gram-positive and Gram-negative, as well as anaerobic organisms. It is particularly effective against serious infections in various body systems, including intra-abdominal, skin and soft tissue, gynecological, and lower respiratory tract infections. Microtaz ING is administered intravenously, ensuring rapid and effective drug delivery to the site of infection.

Uses

  • Treatment of moderate to severe bacterial infections.
  • Intra-abdominal infections.
  • Skin and soft tissue infections.
  • Lower respiratory tract infections (e.g., pneumonia).
