About

MyHep All Tabs contain a fixed-dose combination of Sofosbuvir and Velpatasvir, which are direct-acting antiviral (DAA) agents. Sofosbuvir is a nucleotide analog NS5B polymerase inhibitor, and Velpatasvir is a pan-genotypic NS5A inhibitor. This combination works synergistically to block different stages of the Hepatitis C virus (HCV) life cycle, preventing viral replication and assembly.

This pan-genotypic regimen is highly effective against all major genotypes of chronic Hepatitis C virus infection, including those with compensated or decompensated cirrhosis. It offers a high cure rate (SVR) with a relatively short treatment duration, typically 12 weeks. The convenience of a single tablet, once-daily dosing, significantly improves patient adherence and simplifies treatment. Regular monitoring for drug interactions is important.

Uses

  • Treatment of chronic Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in adults.
  • Effective against all major HCV genotypes (pan-genotypic).
  • Used in patients with or without compensated cirrhosis.
  • Can be used in patients with decompensated cirrhosis in combination with ribavirin.

Directions For Use

Take one tablet orally once daily with or without food, as directed by your physician. Swallow the tablet whole.

Benefits

  • High sustained virologic response (SVR) rates across all HCV genotypes.
  • Short treatment duration, typically 12 weeks.
  • Convenient once-daily, single-tablet regimen.
  • Effective in patients with or without cirrhosis.
  • Significantly reduces the risk of liver-related complications.
  • Well-tolerated with a favorable safety profile.

Safety Measures

  • Alcohol - Avoid alcohol consumption, as it can worsen liver disease and potentially interfere with the treatment's effectiveness.
  • Pregnancy - Use in pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. If used with ribavirin, ribavirin is contraindicated in pregnancy.
  • Breastfeeding - It is unknown if sofosbuvir/velpatasvir are excreted in human milk. A decision should be made whether to discontinue breastfeeding or the drug, considering the importance of the drug to the mother.
  • Liver - Can be used in patients with compensated or decompensated cirrhosis. Monitor liver function, especially in those with advanced liver disease.
  • Kidney - No dose adjustment is required for mild, moderate, or severe renal impairment, or for patients on dialysis.
  • Lung - No specific lung-related contraindications. However, monitor for any unusual respiratory symptoms.
