About
ORNI-O TABLETS is a combination antibiotic medication containing Ornidazole and Ofloxacin. Ornidazole is a nitroimidazole derivative effective against anaerobic bacteria and certain protozoa, working by damaging their DNA. Ofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, essential enzymes for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination. This combination provides a broad spectrum of activity against a wide range of bacterial and protozoal infections, making it effective for mixed infections where both aerobic and anaerobic pathogens may be present. It is commonly prescribed for gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and other systemic infections, offering comprehensive antimicrobial coverage.
