About

ORPAN DSR TAB combines Omeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), with Domperidone, a prokinetic and antiemetic agent. Omeprazole works by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme system in the gastric parietal cells, leading to a significant reduction in stomach acid production. This provides effective and prolonged acid suppression. Domperidone enhances gastrointestinal motility by blocking dopamine receptors, thereby increasing the tone of the lower esophageal sphincter and accelerating gastric emptying, which helps to reduce reflux and alleviate symptoms like nausea and bloating.

This combination is particularly useful for conditions requiring both potent acid suppression and improved gastrointestinal transit. It is commonly prescribed for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and dyspepsia where delayed gastric emptying contributes to symptoms, offering comprehensive relief and promoting healing of the esophageal lining.
