About
Oxitoz 50mg Injection is a platinum-based antineoplastic (anti-cancer) medication that contains the active ingredient Oxaliplatin. It is primarily prescribed for the treatment of stage 3 colon cancer following surgical removal (resection) of the primary tumor, and for metastatic cancers of the colon and rectum. This medicine is typically used in combination with other chemotherapy drugs. Colorectal cancer originates in the large intestine or rectum and often results from the accumulation of multiple genetic mutations. Both genetic predispositions and environmental factors contribute to its development. Oxitoz is particularly effective against tumors that do not respond to cisplatin treatment.
Common side effects of Oxitoz 50mg Injection may include a decrease in blood cell counts, throat discomfort, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, indigestion, heartburn, blood clots, blood in urine, high blood pressure, depression, insomnia, and low calcium levels. Notify your doctor if these side effects persist or cause significant discomfort.
Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you are allergic to Oxitoz or any of its components. Also, discuss any existing medical conditions, such as kidney, liver, or heart problems, and provide a list of all medications and vaccines you are currently using. This medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
