Oxaltor 50mg Injection is a platinum-based antineoplastic agent containing the active ingredient Oxaliplatin. It is prescribed to treat stage 3 colon cancer after surgical removal of the primary tumor, as well as metastatic colon and rectal cancer, often in combination with other anticancer medications. Colorectal cancer typically develops in the rectum and large intestine due to the accumulation of genetic mutations, influenced by both genetic and environmental factors. Oxaltor works against tumors that are resistant to cisplatin therapy.
Common side effects of Oxaltor 50mg Injection include reduced blood cell counts, throat irritation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, indigestion, heartburn, blood clots, blood in urine, high blood pressure, depression, insomnia, and low calcium levels.
