About

Ricovir 300mg contains Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate (TDF), a nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI). TDF is a prodrug that is converted intracellularly to tenofovir diphosphate, which then inhibits the activity of HIV-1 reverse transcriptase and HBV polymerase. This inhibition prevents the replication of the viral genetic material, thereby reducing viral load and progression of the disease.

It is a cornerstone medication in the management of HIV infection as part of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) and is also widely used for the treatment of chronic Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection.
