About

TAMFIL-S contains tamsulosin, an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor blocker primarily used for the symptomatic treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men. BPH is a common condition where the prostate gland enlarges, leading to compression of the urethra and various lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) such as urinary hesitancy, weak stream, incomplete emptying, and frequent urination, especially at night. Tamsulosin works by selectively relaxing the smooth muscles in the prostate gland and the bladder neck, which are innervated by alpha-1 receptors.
