About
TERRIFRAC SOLO 600 UG/2 contains Teriparatide, a recombinant human parathyroid hormone (PTH) analog. It is primarily used in the treatment of severe osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and men at high risk of fracture. Unlike antiresorptive agents that slow bone breakdown, Teriparatide acts as an anabolic agent, stimulating new bone formation. It achieves this by intermittently activating osteoblasts, the cells responsible for building bone matrix.
This unique mechanism leads to significant increases in bone mineral density and a reduction in the risk of vertebral and non-vertebral fractures. Its administration is typically subcutaneous, and treatment duration is usually limited to two years, providing a targeted approach to improve bone strength and reduce the incidence of fragility fractures.
