About

Mabtas 100mg Infusion contains rituximab as its active ingredient. It is prescribed for various conditions in adults and is used either alone or in combination with other medications. It treats non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (a cancer of B-lymphocytes) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (a common cancer of B-cells). Mabtas is also indicated for moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis in adults, used alongside methotrexate. Additionally, it is used to manage granulomatosis with polyangiitis and microscopic polyangiitis (inflammatory conditions affecting blood vessels, primarily in the lungs and kidneys) in adults and children aged 2 years and older. It is also approved for treating moderate to severe pemphigus vulgaris, an autoimmune disorder that causes painful blisters on the skin and mucous membranes of the mouth, throat, nose, and genitals.

Mabtas belongs to a class of drugs known as anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies. It should not be used if you are allergic to rituximab or any of its components, have a weakened immune system, or are currently suffering from a serious infection. Inform your doctor if you have any heart conditions, heart failure, or breathing issues before beginning treatment. Also, let your doctor know if you have had a hepatitis B infection in the past, as this infection can potentially reactivate during treatment and may become serious. Use of this infusion is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Common side effects include blood infections, anemia, dizziness, facial and body swelling, skin itching, diarrhea, excessive sweating, and fluctuations in blood pressure. Women who can become pregnant should use effective contraception during treatment and for 12 months after the last dose. Mabtas may cause serious infusion-related reactions during or within 24 hours of administration. Notify your doctor or healthcare provider immediately if you experience symptoms such as high blood pressure, chest pain, headache, breathing difficulty, vomiting, skin rash, or throat swelling.
