About

TOFANTA 5 contains Tofacitinib, an oral Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor used to treat various autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. It works by blocking the activity of JAK enzymes, which are intracellular signaling molecules crucial for the signaling pathways of cytokines and growth factors involved in immune responses and inflammation. By inhibiting these pathways, Tofacitinib effectively reduces the inflammatory processes that drive diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and ulcerative colitis.

This targeted therapy offers an alternative to traditional immunosuppressants and biologics, providing significant relief from symptoms such as joint pain, swelling, and stiffness, and helping to prevent disease progression. Due to its mechanism of action, it requires careful patient selection and monitoring for potential side effects, including infections and cardiovascular risks.
