About
AMLODAC T TAB is a combination medication specifically formulated to manage essential hypertension (high blood pressure). It combines two distinct antihypertensive agents: Amlodipine, a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker, and Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). Amlodipine works by relaxing the blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily, while Telmisartan blocks the action of a natural substance that narrows blood vessels, further relaxing them and lowering blood pressure. This dual mechanism of action provides a comprehensive approach to blood pressure control, often achieving better results than either drug used alone. It helps to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as strokes and heart attacks by maintaining blood pressure within a healthy range, thereby protecting vital organs from damage associated with chronic hypertension.
