About

AMLOKIND AT is a combination medication comprising Amlodipine, a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker, and Atenolol, a beta-1 selective adrenergic blocker. Amlodipine works by relaxing the smooth muscles in the walls of blood vessels, leading to vasodilation and a reduction in blood pressure. Atenolol reduces heart rate and the force of heart contractions, thereby decreasing the heart's workload and oxygen demand. This dual action provides comprehensive control over hypertension and angina, making it effective for patients who require both blood pressure reduction and management of chest pain.

This combination therapy is particularly useful for patients with essential hypertension, especially those who also experience angina pectoris. By addressing both peripheral vascular resistance and cardiac output, it offers enhanced blood pressure control and symptomatic relief from angina. It helps to prevent serious cardiovascular events such as heart attacks and strokes. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, heart rate, and overall cardiovascular status is important during treatment to ensure optimal efficacy and safety.

Uses

  • Treatment of essential hypertension.
  • Management of chronic stable angina pectoris.
  • Reduction of cardiovascular risk in hypertensive patients.
  • When monotherapy with Amlodipine or Atenolol is insufficient.
