About

Amlong-H is a synergistic combination medication designed for the comprehensive management of essential hypertension. It comprises Amlodipine, a long-acting dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker, and Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic. Amlodipine exerts its antihypertensive effect by relaxing the smooth muscles in the arterial walls, leading to peripheral vasodilation and a reduction in systemic vascular resistance, thereby lowering blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide complements this action by increasing the excretion of sodium and water from the body through the kidneys, which reduces blood volume and further contributes to blood pressure reduction.
