About

CILAHEART 10 contains Cilnidipine, a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker primarily used for the treatment of essential hypertension. Cilnidipine exerts its antihypertensive effect by selectively blocking both L-type and N-type voltage-dependent calcium channels. The blockade of L-type channels in vascular smooth muscle leads to vasodilation, reducing peripheral vascular resistance and consequently lowering blood pressure. Uniquely, its action on N-type calcium channels, predominantly found in sympathetic nerve terminals, helps to suppress norepinephrine release, which can further contribute to vasodilation and prevent reflex tachycardia often seen with other dihydropyridine calcium channel blockers.

This dual mechanism provides effective and sustained blood pressure control, reduces the workload on the heart, and helps to protect target organs from hypertension-related damage. It is a well-tolerated option for managing high blood pressure, contributing to improved cardiovascular outcomes and reducing the risk of complications such as stroke and heart attack, making it a valuable therapeutic agent in hypertension management.
