About

EVAPARIN PFS 40 MG is a low molecular weight heparin (LMWH), an anticoagulant medication used to prevent and treat various thromboembolic disorders. It works by enhancing the activity of antithrombin, which in turn inhibits clotting factors, primarily Factor Xa. This action prevents the formation and growth of blood clots, reducing the risk of serious complications such such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE). The pre-filled syringe (PFS) formulation ensures convenient and accurate dosing for subcutaneous administration.

LMWHs like EVAPARIN have a more predictable anticoagulant response and a longer half-life compared to unfractionated heparin, allowing for once or twice daily dosing without routine laboratory monitoring in many cases. It is widely used in both hospital and outpatient settings for prophylaxis and treatment of venous thromboembolism, as well as in certain cardiac conditions.

Uses

  • Prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) after surgery
  • Treatment of existing deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
  • Prevention of blood clots in patients with acute medical illness
  • Prevention of blood clots during hemodialysis
