About

Augplat 500mg Injection contains Romiplostim, a platelet-stimulating agent used in the treatment of immune primary thrombocytopenia (ITP). ITP is a condition where the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys the body’s own platelets, resulting in low platelet levels. This medication is typically prescribed for adults and individuals over 18 years old when other treatments—such as corticosteroids, immunoglobulins, or splenectomy (surgical removal of the spleen)—have failed to improve platelet counts.

This injection is not recommended for individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to Romiplostim or to other drugs produced using recombinant DNA technology involving Escherichia coli (E. coli). Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have liver disease, cancer, a recent history of surgery, if you smoke, or if you are taking hormonal birth control pills. These factors can influence how the medication works and its overall safety.

During treatment, your physician will monitor your blood tests regularly to detect any potential abnormalities, particularly changes in the bone marrow. If such changes are identified, your doctor will assess their severity and decide whether to continue or stop the treatment. Augplat 500mg Injection is not recommended during pregnancy unless your doctor specifically advises its use. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or think you might be pregnant before beginning treatment. It is also unknown whether this medication passes into breast milk; therefore, breastfeeding is not advised during treatment.
