About

Romiset 125mcg Injection (6ml) belongs to the class of platelet-stimulating agents and contains the active ingredient Romiplostim. It is used to treat immune primary thrombocytopenia (ITP), a condition in which the immune system mistakenly destroys the body’s own platelets, resulting in a low platelet count. This medication is typically prescribed for adults and children aged 18 years and older when other treatments, such as corticosteroids, immunoglobulins, or splenectomy (surgical removal of the spleen), have failed to increase platelet levels.

Romiset 125mcg Injection is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to Romiplostim or to other medicines produced using DNA technology involving the microorganism Escherichia coli (E. coli). Before starting this treatment, inform your physician if you have liver disease, cancer, have recently undergone surgery, are a smoker, or are using hormonal contraceptives. These factors may influence the safety and effectiveness of the medication, and your doctor may need to adjust your treatment plan accordingly.

During treatment, your doctor will perform regular blood tests to monitor for any abnormalities, particularly in the bone marrow, as Romiplostim has been associated with significant changes in bone marrow structure. If abnormalities are found, your physician will assess their severity and decide whether to continue or discontinue the treatment.

Romiset 125mcg Injection is not recommended during pregnancy unless clearly prescribed by your doctor. Inform your physician if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or suspect pregnancy before starting the medication. It is also unknown whether the drug passes into breast milk, so breastfeeding should be avoided during treatment.
